Just posted the July newsletter, now available here. If you have a smaller screen resolution you can also view the pdf version.
This month we tell you about the great response our supporters have given to the letter we recently sent out about Corban’s needs and severe budget shortfall. There is still a shortfall, but things are getting better.
We also introduce a new addition to the Corban team in Peru – Christiana Croll, who is working on the site layout and planning of the orphanage campus, in addition to other things.
Corban needs your help! If you know of someone who would be interested in receiving the newsletter just send me an email with the details (the email address can be found in the back page of the newsletter). Thanks!

On June 17th Smart Choice/Blochwitz Insurance Center of Randolph, where our Corban office is located, had an open house and brat fry with a portion of the proceeds going to Corban.
During the brat fry we also had a presentation area set up with information about Corban, as well as our new brochure “Wisconsin Reaches the World,” designed to introduce local residents to our mission to kids in Peru. While we have always been in Randolph too many people still don’t know who we are!
Getting the word out to people has been a big difficulty for us – if you would like to have our brochures in your business it would be a big help! I can also provide a nice brochure holder if you’d like. Just give me (Chris) a call at the office – (920) 326-6169 and I’ll print some up for you.
And for our supporters outside of Wisconsin we have a version coming soon for you too! Just let me know and I’ll send them off. Many thanks again to Sue Bashynski and all the great people at Smart Choice/Blochwitz Insurance in Randolph!

Well here’s the June newsletter, now available here. If you have a smaller screen resolution you can also view the pdf version.
Rather than the usual newsletter we’ve needed to tell you about the very critical needs that Corban is experiencing. There is also a coupon sheet available. Check it out, and if you can give it would be very much appreciated.
Also – would your church be interested in having us for a PowerPoint/video presentation? Passing the word about Corban is an important non-monetary way that you can help the work to rescue children from the streets of Peru.

Our May 2009 newsletter is now available here. If you have a smaller screen resolution you can also view the pdf version.
This month we discuss something very exciting – our first children’s home, planned to open during the first quarter of this coming year.
We also describe the situation of the children who may be among some of the first to enter the new home, and the events that have enabled us to come to this point.
Also described in this issue is a special upcoming need for funds for our August Peru work team. Check it out!

The April newsletter is now available online! Check out all the latest here.
As of today I’m finishing up many maddening hours of working through css and php for the new comment system and administrator’s dashboard. The coding is based on WordPress software and the template has been completely customized to closely match Corban’s original layout.
The end result is a website with a blog-style front page with traditional static pages. I’ve coded it so that both the WordPress and the non-WordPress pages include or “get” link data from the same sources, even though the styles are different between the two types of pages. This makes keeping track of links less complicated, for example when posting newsletters.
Old newsletters will remain posted to the non-WP pages, but new ones will be posted through WP. Also, sizing should no longer be a problem because I’ve recently recoded everything for a wider screen format.
A note on compatibility: this website is designed for IE8. I’ve also tested it with Google Chrome and FireFox 3.0.8. If you’re using an earlier version of IE, now would be a great time to update to a better browser.
That’s all for now! -Chris Peterson
